How to Set up a Conference Call
Conference calls may be initiated from either an analog or a digital campus telephone.
Analog Instructions
To add a party to a call:
- Depress switchhook
- Hear recall dial tone
- Dial third party
- Depress switchhook after party answers
Note: The person initiating the call can only add one more party (for a total of three), but the second person can also add one more party, and so on, up to a maximum of six total extensions. See below if you need to make a conference call with more than six parties.
To drop the last party added:
- Depress switchhook
Digital Instructions
To add a party to a call:
- Press Conference
- Hear dial tone
- Dial party
- Press Conference after party answers
Note: If no answer or busy, press Held Call Appearance
Note: The person initiating the call can add up to four additional parties (for a total of six). See below if you need to make a conference call with more than six parties.
To drop the last party added:
- Press Drop
Large Conference Calls
The following companies offer Operator Assisted, Meet-Me and 800 Meet-Me Conference type and have 24-hour operator standby. They also offer special services such as tapes, transcriptions, pre-notification, and broadcast FAX. Calling the 800 number listed to obtain standard calling rates for their special services.
