Getting Online @ Cornell

To use Cornell's online services, you need three things:

1. A Network ID (NetID)
2. A way of connecting your computer to the network - see below
3. Software to run the applications you want to use

Connecting On Campus

• In residence halls using ResNet
• In most other campus buildings using Ethernet
• Around campus using RedRover, Cornell's wireless service
• In a CIT Public Lab

Connecting Off Campus

• With a modem, a phone line, and a dial-up service such as EZ-Remote or Express Lane
• With an Ethernet card and a cable modem service such as Road Runner
• With an Ethernet card and a DSL service from a provider such as Verizon
• Away from the Ithaca area
