Installing CorporateSync for Palm on the Macintosh

CorporateSync for Palm provides the conduit between the Palm OS device and the CorporateTime server. It consists of two components:

  • program that runs on your desktop and,
  • CS Setup, that needs to be installed on the Palm OS device.

Before Installing CorporateSync please read the Release Notes and Read Me.

Be sure to have your Palm OS device at hand and ready to be placed in its cradle before proceeding with this installation.

  1. Make sure your computer is running and connected to the Internet.
  2. Unplug the USB connector from the back of your computer.
  3. Use Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator to connect to the web and download a copy of the CorporateSync for Palm software installer:
    CorporateSync for Macintosh Software version 2.1.4
  4. Select the Open it radio button and click on the OK button to begin the download.
  5. Double-click on the CorporateSync Pilot for Mac on your desktop.
  6. A CorporateSync splash screen will appear. Click on Continue.
  7. A Preparing to install... window will appear, followed by a window labeled "Install the following." Click Install.
  8. Another window will appear warning you you may need to restart after installation. Click Yes.
  9. Follow these next steps to continue to sync your Palm Address book with the Palm Desktop Address Book. You can skip them if you wish to synchronize your CorporateTime and Palm Address Books, although we advise you not to do so.
    1. Open the Palm folder on your hard drive. (If you don't know where the Palm software has been installed on your computer, do a search for Palm.)
    2. Open the Conduits folder inside it.
    3. Drag the file CorporateTime Addresses from the Conduits folder to the Disabled Conduits folder.
    4. Close the Conduits window.
    5. Open the Disabled Conduits folder.
    6. Drag the file Address Conduit from the Disabled Conduits folder to the Conduits folder.
    7. Close the Disabled Conduits window.
    8. Close the Palm window.
  10. Plug the USB cable back into your computer.
  11. Press the HotSync button.
  12. Configure CS Setup on your Palm.
